Minute for Mission: Quotarians in the Philippines Continue Economy-boosting Programs for Women

A woman in Pampanga practices her newfound sewing skills on one of three sewing machines provided by Quotarians in Angeles City, Philippines.

Fact: Low economic growth over the last 40 years, has increased economic inequality and extreme poverty in the Philippines.

Quota International of Angeles City works in their local community to alleviate the impact extreme poverty has on thousands of women and children. Quotarians and the young members of Junior Quota of Angeles City teamed up to provide three sewing machines to women in Pampanga, Philippines. The sewing machines, and the lessons in craft-making that accompanied them, will allow hundreds of women to support themselves and their families. By creating home goods, including rugs, pot holders, and bags, women in Pampanga can contribute to the local community and build a better future for the ones they love.
