Following successful fundraising by Quotarians in Taree, New South Wales, Australia presented a cheque for $4,450 to the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation, a foundation set up by former Taree couple Matthew and Rebecca Adamson after their daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with Alopecia. The foundation supports families with children suffering the traumatic condition Alopecia and provides wigs for those families not able to afford them.
What is Alopecia? Alopecia is a highly unpredictable autoimmune disorder, resulting in the total loss of hair, this common condition affects approximately 1.7 percent of the population, males and females of all ages and races. It is not life threatening but is most certainly life altering causing a profound psychological impact on the lives of those disrupted by this disease.
